I loves me some Menomena. I saw them in Asheville, NC at a venue not three miles from my apartment. These are some of the hardest working guys in rock. Not to mention amazing writers. You should check out the way they create their songs, both lyrically and musically. (I don't like the way "musically" is spelled. That's really bothering me.) Anyway, after the show I got the opportunity to hang out with Brent Knopf, the keyboardist/vocalist/guitarist/glockenspielist... for about half an hour. He was a super nice guy. Somehow the subject of Prince came up, and a mutual distaste for his music was unearthed. Isn't it great to hate on other artists with artists you totally respect? Nice post. Check out their instrumental album "Under an Hour". I write to it when I'm in the mood.
